‘West orange Reigns Supreme (Bakery): A love letter’, written by Karen Schloss – Diaz, was a beautifully written article, giving some history about the bakery and the team:

Rick Stoltz grew up in West Orange, with an entrepreneurial dad who’d been in the ice cream and bakery supply business.

“When the original bakery space was for sale,” Rick told me, “he saw buying it as an opportunity. This was maybe1969, when I was in eighth grade. I started washing pots and pans all by hand and hated it, as you might imagine.”

Eventually his father opened four locations and around 1975, found their current location and bought the building.

“In the1980s, Dad went into the computer business and left the bakery to me,” Rick continued. “Even though I’ve been at it for 45 years, I still learn something new every day.”

and included a couple amazing reviews.

“I knew folks who raved about their black & white cookies, and their specialty cakes, I’d heard, were da bomb,” Schloss states.

Schloss even offered readers a little hint for the best experience here at Supreme:

“Readers, a secret: skip the rugelach, save the calories for their chocolate frosted donut. The pastry is surprisingly light, and the icing, rich and satisfying. Check this out: their cinnamon raisin bagel is the best I’ve ever had. It was my birthday recently. Guess what I ordered? Not even a question: a gorgeous yellow cake with mocha filling, chocolate fudge icing, and yes, plenty of roses.”
